Would stamping the money that floats around your local area be a good choice for your shop?
Just, whatever you do… don’t pay $15 for AMIBA‘s stamp. (That’s the cheap resale shopkeeper in me talking.) Order your own for a fraction of the cost… with your shop name and URL perhaps?
Speaking of stamps… would creating your own for consignor checks or thank-you notes be worth the extra cost? I’m thinking yes to unique postage stamps!
This seems like such a great idea…kind of a twist on the “Where’s George” thing. But if lots of places did it wouldn’t it be awful? I don’t know what does everyone think???

I wouldn’t worry about “lots of places doing this”… but like you, I’m on the fence about this. Alas, it won’t be as effective as it used to be, since less and less cash is being used nowadays… but still, for a few bucks to buy a stamp saying BUY Local and your shop name/city/ URL, which you can use other ways as well… I’d try it for sure!
