Got low-value goods?

September 26, 2016 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Resalers often end up with merchandise that just isn’t worth a lot…

as is.

Sometimes, the value of a donation is all about MARKETING!

Sometimes, the value is all in the MARKETING!

Maybe you’re a buy-outright who bought a big batch of goods, some of which doesn’t seem worth the space. Or a consignment shop without-of-date items that no one wanted the way they are. Or you’re a donation-only thrift shop whose sorting volunteers keep throwing out stuff that

could be an asset to your shoppers’ lives and to your bottom line.

If so, maybe some of the ideas on this Pinterest board will inspire you, your kids, a crafty friend.

To inspire sales of odd items, print out a few ideas from this Pinterest board about how a specific item can be used. Slip it into a page protector and your printed-out suggestions (turning a bird bath into a seaside side table, an old silverplate tray into a menu chalkboard for the holidays and 280+ more) will be reusable.

Sometimes, the value of a donation is all about MARKETING! For example, tying a few odd pieces of tableware together and adding a tag that says Perfect mini-gardening tools for your potted plants! can help keep otherwise-trashable items in use.

And if your shop maintains Pinterest boards in your social media campaign, remember, repinned suggestions for how to use the treasures they find are always welcome… and may even

persuade them to BUY some of that stuff from you!
