You don’t gotta be an Einstein to make your consignment, resale or thrift shop operate smoother, make more money, or simply be more fun and less work to run.
But it doesn’t hurt.
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
So, if you were thinking that everyone wants to get home to cook dinner and won’t be consigning after, say, 4pm, and you set that as your deadline each day to bring things in…
think differently.
Maybe more quality consignments will come in if folks could drop things off on their way home from work at 5:30…
Or if you will only ever receive donations from the community after she’s had a garage sale…
think differently.
Maybe showing her that a garage sale is not the best way for her to spend a Saturday (and the many days before), but rather she could enjoy the day with her kids and teach them to give back to the community…
