Shaking it up: Facebook Live Videos

August 30, 2018 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Feeling a little stale with your shop’s live videos? Seeing more and more drop-outs… people who watch for a bit then click away? Noticing that sales of your items are heaviest in the first 5 minutes, then wane as the video goes on… and on…

Well, let’s shake it up!

Offer your watchers something new and different, fun and fresh, exciting and exceptional. Some ideas to get you and your talent (that’s the new word for your staffers who love getting in front of the camera!) brainstorming:

* Make your show a “howto” tutorial that solves your potential shoppers’ problems, such as Turning a Look from Day to Night. Down below, watch Angie at Sei Bella Boutique in Roseville CA use 3 dress forms and her warm personality to let viewers know that they can tap into the shop’s expert wardrobing advice and assistance.
* A variation on this would be High to Low. Mix that Express jean jacket with the Bottega Veneta flats. Explain that this is a technique which keeps an outfit from getting all stuffy… and give prices of the total look at your shop, versus the cost of just one element of the ensemble if bought first-hand.
* Riffing off that idea, how about bragging on the variety of brands. Display and discuss, say, black pants from 4 or 5 designers, different prices, and chat about proportion, pockets versus pocket-free, fabric, length… “If you’re looking to look your best, here at MyShop you can try on more manufacturers than you’ll find at the department store or by dragging through the entire mall…”  This theme highlights how your shopper has it all under one roof, so be sure to make that your opening and closing Call To Action!

Thanks, Sei Bella, for creating such a wonderful example to follow… and Kudos to Angie for doing such a great job!
