ICYMI: A Consignment Shop Secret Weapon

June 7, 2019 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

In Case You Missed It…. ICYMI

A very useful internet acronym. And one, I think, that time-pressed resale, thrift and consignment shopkeepers don’t take advantage of often enough.

Now we all know that only a very few of our social media followers actually get shown our wonderful posts and memes and things we want to show them.

And the few who get shown it, miss it. Either because they don’t happen to be looking at their social media when it comes across their feed, or because their minds are elswehere as they swipe through.

So what’s a frazzled resaler to do? Keep inventing new and maybe not-nearly-so-perfect photos, sayings, videos and wracking her/his brain for new ways to say the same thing?

Not. At. All.

Remember, we’re RECYCLERS. It is perfectly all right to repost the same wonderful message you crafted earlier. You can even post them over and over again. The cute quick video of the little one pushing aroung the broom down your aisle? The shot of your store front with the crowd waiting for you to open? A particularly lovely vignette of your merchandise as an example of what folks might find if they stop in or click over to your online site? A Friday Freebie from TGtbT that seems to suit your marketplace’s mood this week?

Of course you can repeat, reissue, remind, repost.

And gain back the time you’d otherwise be spending struggling for a new way to say “We’re Here! Come see us!” when all you really want to say is Buy It Today It May Not Be Here Tomorrow

You’re awesome! I would love to have you come visit me in St Thomas anytime to give your input. Perhaps a trade of your time one day for a free place to stay and a vehicle??😁
