Never let “hope” be a strategy.

Consignment, resale, or thrift shopkeeping: never let "hope" be your strategy.You can’t just “hope” consignment shoppers will discover you. You can’t “hope” your sellers or consignors will know the best ways to make their items more valuable. Or “hope” that people will support your thrift shop’s NFP mission by donating underused possessions rather than have a garage sale.

Hope is nice. Hope is warm. Hope is comforting. But it’s not a strategy for running a business.
