Consignment, resale and thrift shops, always looking for some unique way to display ever-changing inventory and often blessed* with a small budget, might take this look to heart.
You can do this!
Although this is part of an English line of ready-made store fixturing, can’t we see it in our shops?
That darn pillar…made into a wall-decor display. A dresser snuggled up can hold home linens, lingerie, even those darn onesies, bibs, and the like. I’d love to see this in a furniture/ home decor shop filled with baking dishes, specialty pans and the like: good sellers but not the most attractive items on a shelf.
Try this, you may be pleasantly surprised at how your clientele loves to rummage in the “surprises.” Keep the top relatively clear, so rummagers can stack up the little joys they find in the drawers.
I love the tasty little garnish of the paprika drawer. And note the towel bar on the end: display a prized quilt or afghan, or those incredible crinkled-silk mufflers you picked up at the wholesale show?
What to do on the backside of said dresser? Hang a large painting for sale, paint with chalkboard paint for “today’s special”, or if you have the space put another dresser, which doesn’t even need to be the same size, for double the treasure-discovering.
* Yes a small budget is a blessing because it drives a shopkeeper to use her imagination and personal style rather than cash. After all isn’t that what we recommend our customers do?!
The full line of these “shop fittings” can be seen on the D4R blog.

I LOVE it! How do you find the time to find this. Great!
