Snowed in but never snowed under, that’s resalers!

February 14, 2010 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Aren't in the mood to further your resale education? Click to knit these, instead.Snow drifts and icy roads. School closures and travel advisories. Staring the dreaded bills-are-due monster in the face.

Resale customers can’t, won’t, or haven’t the heart to shop. You’ll feel just plain irresponsible if you urged people to bring in consignments in such weather.

But life goes on, and if your shop isn’t pulling in the big bucks right now, how can you assure that it will, come warmer (=more shopping-friendly) weather?

What to do?

How about plotting out some successful ideas for your secondhand shop so that when business picks up, you’ll be ready to

help those shoppers find what they need in your store?

Look around. What needs doing, and what do you need to know in order to do it?

Tired of your boring window displays? Window Displays Especially for Resale Shops is full of ideas including 77 Suggestions for Super Windows.

Wish you could add $10,000 to last year’s figures? There’s 10 Simple Ways you can. (Originally written to show resalers how they could easily make enough money to attend NARTS Conference, you can earn enough between now and June to do it, too!)

Got a web site, but how will folks see it? Blog! It’s easy as your Facebook or Instagram and a lot longer-lasting (and tip: your blog post can automatically show up on your social media, saving time and brain exercise. Learn how (it’s fun!) with Blogging for Resale Shops.

Wonder what your clientele thinks of you? Plan to run a survey this spring with the Customer Opinion Survey Kit. You might be surprised at what your customers can tell you and how much the results will guide your business growth. (I know I was FLOORED by what I learned and made big bucks once I learned it!)

Not in the mood to further your education today? Then go shopping…for something that’ll help YOUR shop.

Got a couple of bucks change back from your shopping spree? Spend it on some mini-Products that are like having lunch with Kate.

The best part of all? You don’t even have to get out of your bunny slippers to shop and get  TGtbT.com”s Products for the Professional Resaler.

No bunny slippers? Click the graphic above to get the pattern for these!
