Only 60 days to Hallowe’en! I can hardly wait.
Now, we’re all aware of how the adult costume market is growing and growing, and how Hallowe’en’s not just for kids anymore, and that there are profits to be made. But have you really stopped to think about how important this holiday is to consignment, resale and thrift shops? Time to stir things up a bit!
It can’t be overstated. Those millions upon millions of shoppers…male, female, young, old, rich or strapped and everyone in-between…
are more likely to discover your business in the next 7 weeks or so than at any other time.
People whose radar is immune somehow to our wonderful shops the other 11 months of the year…all of a sudden think of us when they think costume. So take advantage and grab a fresh new audience by having plenty of costume possibilities for these strangers to explore.
And while they’re in your shop, you can impress them with your “real” merchandise. Go for it! Click thru to our Too Good to be Threw Hallowe’en page.
Okay, I admit it. Halloween is also, like, my third-favorite holiday.
Dress outrageously and stuff your face with sugar…what’s not to like? So I thought I’d share some more resources to make Halloween not only profitable in your consignment or resale shop but fun too.
Grab a few free fonts (don’t miss the dingbats too!) for your handouts, the coupon you’ll make to stick in Trick or Treaters bags, costume rack signage.
How about offering a free Pumpkin Carving Design to those new faces shopping for costumes this month? Great reminder when you add your shop info!
Occupy the kids with Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin.
Maybe you’ll want to have some Marshmallow Ghosts on hand October 31.
And you ARE going to wrap your mannequin in cheesecloth for Mummy Knows Best/ Shop MyShop for Looks that’ll Knock ‘Em Dead, right? Or drape them in white sheets (add a cute fedora for fun) for Your Budget Won’t Do a Vanishing Act Here.
Are you as excited as I am about Hallowe’en and what it can do for your shop? Then get How to have a Frightfully Good Halloween in your Resale Shop right now.
Oh I can hardly wait! I’m going as a bride in a “blood”-splashed dress, carrying a (nice safe rubber) knife. Yup, the honeymoon’s over.

[…] knows I’ve been rattlin’ my bones about it to […]
I Love Halloween! I dress up every year. I always spend way too much time thinking about what I’m going to wear and decorating every corner of my shop. I like to think it’s fun for everyone! 🙂
