The kerfuffle that ate my Sunday »

It’s like you, only better.

July 8, 2011 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Get out of the grey. Step into the light. Get a gravatar. Get out of the grey. Step into the light.

Get a Gravatar.

It’s good for business. But ONLY if you include, in your description, the URL you want potential clients to visit: your site, your blog, your Facebook page.  That way, when people click on your gravatar, they’ll know who you are. Here’s the page you get if you click the Auntie Kate gravatar, or hover your mouse over my toothy grin.Don't hover here, do it down in "Comments"...

Pretty helpful, huh, if someone wants to know about me and my business, especially if I have added a comment to someone else’s blog. It’s like introducing myself, or handing a potential customer my business card.

It’s free. Why wouldn’t you create your gravatar, and shed some light on your business?

If you have created your gravatar, but not added your URL to the description, you’re not getting the full value you could be. Remember… even if viewers who visit your web site never ever will visit your shop, their interest is profitable to your business. The more visits to your web presence, the higher your search engine standing. And the higher-up in search engines your site or blog or Facebook page is, the more likely living, breathing shoppers will come in your actual door.

Read more about Gravatar.

I’ve blogged about this before. Perhaps you missed it.
