I awoke on a sunny (finally, after all that rain!) and beautifully-lazy Sunday morning. Looking forward to a brunch of Polter’s Cottage-cheese Pancakes and strawberry butter. Then a swim, then a walk at sunset on the country’s #1 beach, then maybe a flirtation with Masterpiece Theater.
So I sat down to my computer, coffee mug beside me. One hour, I said to myself, to answer emails and work on TGtbT.com. Then a lazy, glorious Sunday awaited me.
Alas, it was not to be.
Who knew you could actually, really, break software? After 4 hours, I figured out what I had done and how to reverse the damage I had done to my word-processing program. Sweat and tears and a wasted Sunday, but I got it done. Then came the reckoning:
Re-doing 3 weeks of work.
Sure I had backups. Trouble was, my backups were 3 weeks old, and if you’re in the resale industry, you can imagine how much I had changed my files in the past 3 weeks before, during, and after NARTS Conference.
So, if you’re waiting for something from me, forgive me. The kerfuffle ate my homework. While you wait, maybe you’d like to backup your files.
Look into having an external hardrive with software that automatically backups your files.
Take care,
Dwight

Having one of those Sundays right now; it’s making me angry…I guess I’ll log off now.
