Everyone deals with dissatisfied customers. Everyone. From the grocery manager to your dentist and everyone in between. The stakes don’t usually add up to $10,000 to correct… or might they?
Read this story of a $50,000 job and the dilemma it raised.
My uh-oh moment came in the second paragraph of the story.
I agree with the comment made by Ian. “Spotting the dog.” Perfect solution, in my mind, for consignment shopkeepers, buy-outrights mulling over what offer to make on a batch, and even nonprofits and their volunteers. Who knows…
you might even avoid $10,000 in lost profits with that advice.
I should add that idea to 10 Simple Low- or No-Cost Ways to make $10,000 more a year , shouldn’t I? Spotting the dog.

That boardroom table story actually made my blood pressure rise…on a job
like that, I would have made the buyer sign off on the table after inspecting it immediately upon delivery. After that, any scratches made were obviously made by the buyer. Talk about picky…some people will make waves over the most ridiculous things. And when it’s their own fault, they should be responsible for paying the poor guy’s trip out to see it for himself. Grrrrrr….
