I was talking to a shopkeeper the other day (see us in a rare moment with our mouths closed) and was thrilled to hear how she really has a handle on the talents and interests of her seven employees. So I had a
Flash of Brilliance myself.
You know how you never really get time to brainstorm with your staff or volunteers? But when you do, their comments, ideas and viewpoints are truly inspiring? Well, there’s a way for all of you to capture each others’ flashes of inspiration which is
actually totally FUN for all involved.
Flashes of Brilliance occur to many at the same time. Example: Here’s how a non-profit thrift store uses a shared Pinterest board to bookmark images and how-tos, not just for themselves and not for their clientele, but for each other. Kinda of an e-brainstorming session that’s available 24/7/365. Each of the people with their icons there is involved in the shop, and as they run across something they’d like to tell the others, all they do is “pin” the image to their shared board.
It’s easy to create such a board. Here’s an explanation.
We’re collecting up lots of ideas on how you can use Pinterest to increase business in your shop. Stay tuned… or better yet, subscribe to receive email notifications of new posts on Auntie Kate the Blog, up in the right column on this page, just under my photo.

Thanks, Kindra, for letting me know… it’s fixed now, and the whole blog that the explanation appears on is quite helpful, so be prepared to spend some time there!
