Everyone loves a lover.

If your shop hasn’t been open very long, all you need is a paint brush and some red paint:

On the other hand, if you have built a loyal cadre of regulars, all you need is a bunch of paper hearts that your customers can write on, with a few words about why they love your shop:

Kate,
Thanks so much for showcasing Absolutely Her’s window display from last year. Each of the hearts has a message written on it to someone special by our customers. The fun part was watching when they came back after the display was up so they could show their loved ones the note they wrote. It was pretty touching to see some of them.
Thanks again for helping all of us make our shops stand out from the others.

Angie, as you know, I love not only the DISPLAY you created, but the ethos of your business behind it… asking for and receiving and showcasing your clientele’s sentiments. And, of course, the “coming back” aspect of it is perfection!
On a personal note, I did this with stars and photos of my customers on our 6th anniversary, the theme of which was “YOU’RE the Star!” I took photos for weeks beforehand, then framed our shop windows in photo-bedecked stars… and at the invitation-only evening party, after the public event, gave our “models” their photos. I warrant a few of them are still flopping around inside scrapbooks or shoe boxes up in Columbus Ohio!
Many thanks for you excellent idea, and for sharing it so willingly.
