I think the doilies work so well because the accompanying display has lots of circles and is white as well… of course, you probably don’t sell wedding cakes, but… vases? Sets of dishes? Opened umbrellas or lazy susans?

Doilies too feminine for your consignment or resale shop? Find bright poster board to cut into circles: Red and yellow mean “sale” to onlookers, even without the words; shades of green could mean summer’s coming; blues could set the tone for a nautical window. Just keep the merchandise matched to your “dots” so that the display is sophisticated and professional… too many colors could look circus like…
