The Gift of Gab: You have it, now use it!

December 12, 2014 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Think you can't blog for your consignment or reale shop? You're wrong, says Kate Holmes of TGtbT.comIf I could give consignment and resale shopkeepers one gift, it would be

the gift of realizing that you … yes you… already have

The Gift of Gab.

That’s why I don’t understand the lack of engaging and motivating blog entries about the thrift/ resale/ consignment world from the tens of thousands of resalers across the globe.

It’s not like you don’t have anything to say about your business, your love of recycling, your love of style and fashion and thrift. I’m guessing that your loved ones are tempted, sometimes, to roll their eyes as you chatter on and on about your wonderful customers, the incredible things you have in your shop, the innovative ways your merchandise has been used in its second life.

It’s not like you have to be the world’s most talented writer. Blogs can be anything, from photos to how-to’s to videos to quotes. You can even blog by sharing links to articles, inspiring examples, and fun facts about the industry.

Blogging’s just like talking…

but talking to hundreds, even thousands, of potential customers 24/7. And preserving that conversation to offer up again and again on social media.

Blogs are communication. And goodness knows, you can communicate quite well… otherwise, you would never have chosen a career in the public eye, which is exactly what shopkeeping is!

  • There’s even a Pinterest Board especially designed to offer suggestions on what your shop can blog about.

Still doubt that blogging is an easy and low-to-no-cost way to promote your business, simplify your social media tasks, and create loyalty and word-of-mouth? Check out the free info on Blogging for Resale Shops, then get your copy of this Product for the Professional Resaler…

I wish you the delight of using that Gift of Gab you already have. Chatter on, Chatterbox!
