Need some customer tips to share?

October 8, 2015 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

What shall I post on my social media today? Auntie Kate has some ideas...Tired of always posting “buy buy buy” messages in your social media? Believe me, your viewers/ followers/ fans are even more tired of reading nothing but these over and over.

Break up your blatant advertising with something social. Like tips, jokes, thoughts.

In fact, rule of thumb is, post 4 truly “social” messages from your consignment, resale or thrift shop for every “Look at this cool XYZ” update.

Problem is, it’s easy to come up blank when you want to reach out to your followers.

Here’s a few resources you can use when you need an idea or two:

  • Stain-removal tips are always welcome, whether you blog about it, Pinterest it, use it for your Facebook update or a tweet. Here’s a whole index full. Pick and choose to match the season, and you can get dozens of posts out of this single resource!
  • If you love to share the latest fashion news with your customers, and your customers love handbags, BragmyBag is a must site for you.
  • If your thrift shop is full of recyclable materials for art projects and the like, how about giving your viewers some craft ideas? Especially good when you’ve received a large donation of whatchamacallits.
