Please, help the underprivileged consignment shops who dwell among us.

May 17, 2017 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

If you are a savvy shopper, and know pretty well how much what will sell and how much it will sell for, you can do well in the consignment business.

That’s what one blog says. Alas, this type of info is JUST what some folks fall for and IT HURTS THE INDUSTRY. Folks coming into the industry with a oh I had a garage sale and I sold stuff for 3 of my friends and it was a gas attitude do your professional business no favors.

Those folks who think consignment, resale, or thrift shopkeeping is a matter of oh, I just LOVE to shop, and I’m a great bargain hunter… and who open on that basis can literally cost YOU money.

So: help them. For their sake, for the sake of their victims clients, but most of all, for your sake.

Help your competition keep from closing.Tell them about TGtbT.com and the Poducts for the Professional Resaler. Potential, newbie, or god-what-do-i-do-now shopkeepers need you to point in the right direction.

Why should YOU make that shop better? Because:

Every consumer THEY turn off is a black mark on YOUR business.

You know it. Do something about it.

Of course, s/he may think s/he doesn’t need any knowledge… but at least, it will not be YOUR fault when a potential client is soured on the whole industry because YOU didn’t gently suggest that perhaps your competition might wish to polish up her/his act. At least, if you offered the resource of Too Good to be Threw, it won’t be YOUR fault that the amateur over there ruins your hard-earned reputation.
