Loving all the freshly-minted live videos so many front-runner consignment and resale shops are popping up with!
Fun to watch and shop with. Brave pioneers, I salute you. Here’s my wishlist for the second generation of this concept as owners and managers see what a great and fun way it is to sell this way!

Lots more questions, so I hope some of our pioneering peers will answer in the comments below. Linking to other social media? Bookkeeping tips? What sells best? Can I rerun a live video that evening? Can I create this video offline then run as a regular video? Hope that some of you will share your experiences for other resale shopkeepers below! Feel free to add your URL to your helpful comments so we can shop with you, too!
This is one unexplored frontier I want to try, this week. Any tips regarding pre-alerting followers that we are having a live video? Or is that not necessary, because it’s about timing of video and it comes up on their feeds real-time? The video will be an important showcase of around 300 prom dresses in stock. Thanks! I have read the other tips and have a great store banner and there will be two of us presenting on camera.

Hi Tammy! Pre-alerting, especially for a major showcase like yours, is a MUST.
Use every venue you have: FB, e-mail blasts, in-store signage, Twitter, on your phone’s after-hours messaging, your app, bag stuffers… and yes, natch, a quick (as in 30-seconds-ish) live FB video, over and over again with increasing frequency as the time draws near.
Create URGENCY and EXCLUSIVITY and all the trappings around prom… maybe have a random giveaway to a watcher who comments, of a prom-related item!
PS Be sure to let ME know. Not in the market for prom, but would love to watch!

Me again! As I spend my afternoons and evenings enjoying “e-visiting” resale peers, I find more Best Practices to offer you. Today’s tips include:
* I love when the presenter goes off-screen to collect an item to show. It really builds anticipation! You might want to consider doing that every 5-10 items or so.
* Even more engaging: when there’s TWO presenters, and they enter from right or left. Makes the presentation go faster (no fumbling on-camera) and it’s livelier.
A couple of points I wanna reiterate from my post: ;( Put your shop name and logo ON CAMERA. Use a darn poster board and marker if you have to… but keep reinforcing that you’re Encore and not 2ndHand Rose that nasty competitor down the street!
And please please please state the shop name and location several times during your video. If I miss the first 5 seconds or 5 minutes, I’m at sea as to what’s going on. Remember you do NOT have anyone’s full attention. Pretend we’re diapering the baby while we’re watching you.
Keep on filming!

And the e-shopping sprees continue! Here’s notes I jotted after watching dozens of your fun videos. 2 more points to add to this blog entry:
* Describe the color, especially dark ones. Black, steel, deep brown, maroon? Can be difficult to tell when shot by a phone/ seen on a phone.
* If you’re a fan of using “I’d rate it a X out of 10”, JUSTIFY that “seven-and-a-half’. I’d say something like: “This designer bag shows that it’s a wise and experienced one that’s been around”. If that statement’s not your style, try “This is a beginner’s LV… once you see how envious your friends are, you’ll want another more prestigious version such as…” then show a 10 out of 10 one!
