Wow, did you click on today’s post simply BECAUSE of the title? Hmm, lesson learned?
Yup, December 26. In the spirit of naming days in regard to their seasonal consumerism (Black Friday? Cyber Monday?), December 26 should be The Day of Disappointment.
However wonderful your December 25 might have been (hopefully, was!) with family and friends, fellowship and good cheer, wonderful food and drink…. if you didn’t receive what you really wanted chances are, on December 26, you’ll be out seeking that which
you really wanted.
Which is where you,
as a consignment/ resale/ thrift shop come in.
I just (personally) bought what I really wanted, myself, after getting lovely gifts that were not what I truly wanted.
Your customers will be out doing the same, and looking to pass on things they received that they really didn’t want.
Will your shop be ready?
First: There’s a lot of things that are wanted even more simply because Christmas is over. So now’s a terrific time to get ’em in.
Then: Right after Christmas, there’s this flurry of gift returns, right? Not everything can be returned, and many folks feel guilty about doing so. You could dedicate the coming week to helping charities and make your community and your business reputation stronger.
So if you think your clientele will respond to the subject line I used, like you did? Get ready to
provide them with what they need this week!
So go ahead, use this post’s title as the subject line for your email, the lead-in for your social media post, or even the title for YOUR shop blog entry. It’s Kate’s gift to you, and she hopes it’s what you really wanted.
