Now look at
the lonesome, customer-less tables below. (All I did was swivel around to take the second photo an instant after the first.)

Why do you think this is?
Comfort. It was more comfortable to shop at the taller tables. The shorter ones involved hunching down. Even if the browsers weren’t consciously aware that the lower tables would hurt their backs, they gravitated to the merchandise displayed at a more comfortable height.
I couldn’t have planned a better pair of photos to show you why that five-foot rack in your shop with the shorts on it isn’t doing a real good job of selling shorts. Or why putting shoes on the floor under the dresses isn’t helping move that footwear. Who wants to stick her butt in the air to see if those pink flip flops are a size 7?
Great advice! I wouldn’t have thought that the height of a table would make a difference but you’re right, it does!
