When that lottery prize gets big enough that even people who don’t buy lottery tickets are, and everyone’s talking about it
and they all tune in to get the winning numbers…
that’s a perfect example of using your blog and social media to tap into whatever people are thinking about right now (and it does wonders for your short-term SEO as well.)
Leading up to the drawing (and these ideas could be good for weeks if there’s no winner and the dollars get bigger and bigger….)
You can all share stories about what you WOULD have done w/ the money on social media. You start it off, every post, with a topic and a great picture. Something like this:

If I won the lottery, this is the house I’d buy. What kind of dream house would be on YOUR shopping list?
And then the next day (or in a few more hours if you’re ambitious) maybe this:

I’d be packing for the vacation of my dreams in Australia. Where would you go with your new-won lottery prize?
In-shop, how about a nice clean posterboard and multi-colored markers could be a customer activity… with a sign at the bottom… “of course people save mega millions every day SHOPPING RESALE!”
Now here’s the cleverest part of this whole deal.
You could write the morning after some stranger wins instead of you or your customers: Aww, you didn’t win 😦 As a consolation prize we are giving 10% off any item today when you show us your Lotto Ticket like a coupon. See we know you’re a winner every day ’cause you SHOP RESALE!!
