Pricing jewelry in your consignment or resale shop could be a lot easier.A TGtbT Teeny Tip:

A Too Good to be Threw Teeny TipIf you don’t have to track stock numbers on your jewelry or head bands or sunglasses or candles, and if you are having attractive price tags or header cards designed…color-code them by PRICE for easier tagging and shopping. Save one color for use with unusual price points (as in White Tags: Special Pricing) , but really, isn’t most of your selection within a specific price range?

A tiny timesaver, to be sure, but a powerful one.

A few more TGtbT Teeny Tips, if you have another teeny bit of time…

Princess Summerfallwinterspring*…how I loved her as a little girl. She covered the whole wonderful spectrum of seasons.

Or did she? I guess Princess SummerfallwinterRESORTspring just doesn’t trip as lightly off the tongue… but it can trip lightly off your January/ February sales, if you let it.

Here’s some advantages of having, promoting, advertising and publicizing an actual resortwear/ cruise department in your resale shop.

The resort/ cruise season as a part of your resale business can be a positive in so many ways:

* First, simply the income generated by providing another “department” for a specific clientele.
* Then, the PR value of a “thrifty” shop offering goods which may be seen as “luxury”…
* And of course the word-of-mouth aspect of same…
* The added reason-to-shop and resulting traffic in January and February by offering resort. They may come in to see the resort wear and buy the winter left-overs, making drastic markdowns on these goods unnecessary
* Giving regulars “first dibs” on warm-weather items, before “the rest of the town” grabs all “the good stuff” This aspect is perceived as a true customer service
* And the ability to psyche out what will sell when spring/ summer finally arrives throughout the shop. Watching what was snatched up in Jan and Feb will help an astute shopkeeper price right (up or down), when warm weather finally DOES arrive.

* Before you wrack your brain, she was on the Howdy Doody Show in the ’50’s. Stroll down Memory Lane…
