Most of the time, we fight clutter in our shops, of course.

But sometimes, messing the joint up, cluttering the sales floor, is a must.

Like when you’re taking some photos of your merchandise for use on your web site, your social media, your print ads or brochures. You want to show the variety a “new” merchandise shop simply can’t match; you want to imply that wonderful find-a-treasure aspect of shopping with you; and you want to tempt them to come in quick before it’s all gone!

Yup, you as owner, co-owner, manager of a consignment, resale or thrift shop NEED a portrait. People want to see your lovely face! Use your portrait on your web site, in your blog, periodically on your social media, as a cover photo on Facebook…

Remember, people like to deal with people they know, and seeing your picture makes them feel like they know you already.

Facebook loves videos, huh? But you have all you can do to keep your consignment or resale shop Facebook page going, without becoming a movie producer, am I right?

Guess what? There’s a down-and-dirty way to fool Facebook into thinking you posted a video and getting all that lovely attention… andFacebook created it FOR you!
