Have a GROUPON Gathering! The next step.

July 26, 2011 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Have a GROUPON party to get the max attention for your resale shopIt’s fine to have a Groupon offering in your consignment or resale shop. After all, you plan on making lots of new fans for your shop from this. But have you taken the next step?

Have a GROUPON Gathering!

Here’s how: announce on your site, your blog, your Facebook business page, your Twitter, bag stuffers and signage and ads and phone recording… in other words, everywhere!… that your Groupon buyers are invited to a Groupon Gathering.

This would, ideally, be about a week after your coupons appear.

Make it fun with GRoupon Frozen GRApes,  GReen punch, and GReat deals especially for them (get out your pakaways? Your special-occasion dollar rack? ) Make it sociable by inviting them to bring a friend who disn’t buy a Groupon… and let that person have a coupon of some sort as well!

(Of course, this could be a Living Sociable Social, Daily Deals Dally….)

It’s all about maximizing your promotions.

Which is exactly what  Promote with PIZZAZZ and 229 Promotional Events for Resale & Consignment Shops PLUS Promotions Step-by-Step are all about. You should download them here. Get all the attention you dream you can for your shop.

    @Kim – that’s really interesting – maybe it’s because of location?

    @laurel – I emailed them both on the same day – got an autoreply back from Living social saying no. It took Groupon a couple weeks to get back to me, but then we got the ball rolling.
    How was your groupon – how many did you sell – were you happy you did it?

    When we did our groupon their contract states you can’t do another online ( such as living social etc) for 3 months following your groupon. Maybe this is why you weren’t eligible???

      Laurel, I doubt if one company forbidding a client to deal with a competitor for any length of time/ any reason… is even LEGAL or a legally-enforceable part of any contract.
      And even if it were, why would the 2nd company agree with the first and say, oh sorry, my competitor forbids me from seeking your business? Sounds fishy to me!

    Great idea – and super timely – our Groupon is scheduled for next week. Have others done living Social?
    I just wonder because I had emailed them & they said that we weren’t eligible, but they didn’t elaborate – I wondered if they don’t do consignment stores?

      We’re doing Living Social within in the month. They actually contacted us, I believe. Don’t know if they are different from one city to another. We’re in San Antonio.
