Thanking people matters.

September 12, 2013 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Thank You! is so important, says TGtbT.comWhile pondering how much

thanking people matters in business

(and of course in your personal life) for consignment, resale and thrift shops (and of course every interaction in person or electronically) I ran across this little gem of a PDF

THE
UNDERAPPRECIATED
ART OF SAYING
“THANK YOU”

Could this booklet help you and your staff be happier, more productive, and more profitable? In addition to more polite, which will make your mother happier?

There’s more PDFs from this company here.

When I volunteered at a nonprofit resale shop just a few years back, the staff always thanked me when I left my shift. I liked that. Now, as the manager of a different nonprofit resale shop, I always thank my volunteers when they’re leaving their shift.

I do a Thankful Thursday on my facebook page Wear it Again Kids & Family Too! Consignment/Resale where I give $5 in store credit to my store for a consignor or customer who goes above and beyond in any type of help they give to the store- I find that this is a great “feel” good segment and helps with customer loyalty. Feel free to go check it out. You have done a blog post on my store a few weeks back due to an unfortunate issue I have had in keeping my business going. Hopefully things will change around for me this year.

Thanks Kelly, a Thankful Thursday is a wonderful idea. and wouldn’t it be wonderful if all your clientele could see these “thanks” as they occur or weeks/ months later? Have you considered having a web site/ blog of your own, so these recurring events get maximum exposure and show your business in the best light possible? Seems a shame that you do this on such an ephemeral medium as a Facebook status post and that only those who use FB, and who happen to use it in the right time frame, see this.
