Another reason you need a web site.

February 2, 2016 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

There’s a zillion reasons any consignment, resale or thrift shop needs an active, attractive web site.

Invite potential customers into your consignment shop via email.Shops that rely solely on Facebook for online advertising and marketing are missing the boat (actually, they’re missing a whole flotilla, but that’s a discussion for another day.)

Today’s reason, though, just put its wet nose under my arm. It never occurred to me until this morning when I was looking at my broadcast email provider’s reports. So simple, but I never thought of it.

Email list signups.

Turns out those folks who sign up for my emails do so sixteen times more on my web site than on my special Facebook tab. 16 times more! And of course, when folks get my emails, they remember my business.

That’s the goal.

My information goes directly to them, showing up in their email, without Facebook butting in, deciding whether or not a fan sees my post on their timeline.

What’s your ratio of signups for your list? Did you forget to add a signup box on your web site? Do you have a tab on your business Facebook page? I’d love to hear how it shakes out for you in the comments below.

PS Here’s what my signup opportunities look like (go ahead and join my list, if you don’t receive Used ain’t seen nothin’ yet from me):
On TGtbT.com: http://tgtbt.com/#signupbox
On the TGtbT Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/2Good2BThrew/app/141428856257/

PPS Don’t use broadcast email yet to connect with your clientele? It’s great! I use Constant Contact, and you can try it for free with this referral link.
