What’s the most important thing people need to know about your B&M shop before they come visit?
That will help them come visit?
Where you are, of course. And what to look for when they get near… and what to look for is… what your shop looks like from the road/ sidewalk!
Bonus points if you show a bit of what’s inside, your phone number, and a nice welcoming OPEN sign, and open DOOR!
Like Seva’s photo here:
It took some talking for me to get Seva to do this…. but this is a shot of her new-ish 2nd location, and I believe she’s opening a 3rd as we speak!
You could even add the proprietor welcoming the viewer at the door. Or a handful of customers entering and leaving. Heck, tie some balloons to the railing, add a flag, wet down the sidewalk for a twilight-time reflection.
Create, as the year cycles by, seasonal shots of your shop. Do it up right and do it up flamboyantly. A wheelbarrow full of pumpkins and corn shocks. Use a photo app to add snow falling in your winter shot. Mass flowering bulbs for spring, and so on. Don’t be shy… you want that photo to create a yearning in your clientele to be right there right then.
Spend some time editing, if need be. Follow along as I edited a decent photo into a great one, a few years back.
How to use your photos:
- On your web site, of course.
- On your social media: as cover photos, but also as posts every couple of weeks.
- In print media ads, handouts, flyers that you use off-site, for example at fashion shows, trade exhibits.
- As a backdrop for photo ops within the store (blow your photo up big at FedEx copy stores.)
- On your business cards. And thank-you notes. Heck, get your staff a set of coffee mugs.
