Brand your photos in one easy step.

February 16, 2018 by Auntie Kate of Too Good to be Threw

Okay, you’ve heard me rant preach discuss putting your shop’s name, tag, URL, whatever, in all your

merchandise photos on your social media before.

Why?

  • To reinforce your name, so you become almost “generic”… like Kleenex or “Scotch tape”… so they think Let’s go to MyShop instead of let’s go resale shopping.
  • To publicize your shop when fans share a photo they particularly love. (Susie thinks Leslie would love that hutch… but Leslie has been living in a cave and doesn’t know about MyShop.)
  • So your ge-or-geous Easter table set-up that you spent hours creating, snapping and posting doesn’t end up publicizing that %$#$@ shop in NextTown ’cause she stole it from you.

So what, you ask me, is the One Step No-Fail easiest way to assure every photo has your name in it?

Simple signage for your social media shots

Picmonkey’s “Little Bird” template, changed colors, added border. Even this more-elaborate -than-needed sign took less than 10 minutes to make.

Simple: Use a sign in your shot. (Actually, use several of varying sizes so you have handy the perfect size.)

Create your sign: Use a graphics program (I like Picmonkey) to make a sign (tip: to make a 8 1/2″ x 11″ sign, use 2550 x 3300 pixels.)

Use your logo, use your signature font, maybe add a border or a background color. Save your creation.

Then print out on sturdy paper multiple copies (you won’t want to use a tattered sign) and sizes (see above).

Simply place them where they work best in each shot.

Done. And done.
