After all, some tax-payer money went into these slogans, so if you paid for them, how about adapting them to your consignment, resale, or thrift shop?
Beyond Your Dreams, Within Your Reach Doesn’t this strike a chord for those shops which specialize in the truly dream-luscious brands? A bit snobby, maybe, when applied to resale goods, but then again…
Find Yourself Here For shops which brand themselves as unique, indie fashion/ style presenters. Get it? “Find yourself”? No? Well.
Celebrate & Discover Well, this has possibilities, maybe… if your shop has lots of party wear and other stuff.
More Than You Can Imagine If you have a vast selection of goods in a seriously-large storefront, this might work.
Feels Like Coming Home Great if your home goods/ furnishings store specializes in carefully-arranged vignettes; not so good if you have the whole dusty-attic-mishmash thing going. The mishmash approach is perfectly fine, just (hopefully) it’s not like coming home. So you might, for a wonderfully-full messy treasure trove of a store, consider altering Big Sky Country to Big Buy Country. Or use Land of Enchantment, that’d be good. I’d go for that.
To see which slogan has been/ was applied to which state, visit the Wikipedia list. To my Canadian friends: I tried to include slogans for Canadian provinces, but really. See what I mean.Posted in I've been meaning to tell you, quotations of use, Shopkeeping talk on January 1, 2012|
