Move those left-over summer clothing items by turning them into transitional outfits!
This great photo, from Your Best Friend’s Closet in Denver, got me thinking.
Here’s how:
- Add heavier accessories like the chunky chains, neck and waist, in the photo.
- Scarves can loop around necks, be turned into a weskit as above. And remember leather belts too.
- Tights, bike shorts, leggings, skinny jeans: layer them beneath a summer dress or top/mini combo.
- Add dark, suede sandals, pumps, ballet flats, boots.
- Cardigans. Jackets. Pair them insouciantly with denim cutoffs, a floral dress, or the all-purpose chino crops.
- Do it up big…start that word-of-mouth. PIle on the layers, the bangles…make it showy!
Here’s a basic outfit you can pull together in two secs: it’s from Fringe, a consignment shop in Alabama.
What makes it work? The surprise of the turquoise belt, the scarf worn as an epaulet.
