I’ve learned that online blogging is a great way to deliver your message to fans in a clear and concise manner. But with the ease of posting social network updates with a click of a button from our Smartphones, I think it’s easy for a lot of independent artists and businesses to get lazy and neglect two of the most important cornerstones of a company’s online promotional strategy: their official website and mailing list.

Her reasoning:

So keep posting regularly on your social networks, but be sure to step up your online presence with keeping your website and mailing list active. Your consistency with these two major tools will assuredly push your professional image and business brand up to new heights.

Consignment and resale and thrift shops love discounting… or rather, we are smart enough to know our customers love “outsmarting” us by “finding the deals” in our shops.

And using coupons is one more way we can help our customers feel smart. An X-dollar-off or a percentage off

It’s best to use the same business name for all your social media outlets.

But it can gobble up the best part of a day to check availability of a name you’d like to use, right? Like SerendipitySue is available at Facebook but not on Twitter, okay at Google but not WordPress or eBay. What a LOT of work.
