Every once in a while, and oftener than I can catch, a consignment, resale, or thrift shop does something so RIGHT online, that I can’t resist sharing it with you. Here’s Selective Seconds in Greenwood IN introducing a new staff member to their Facebook fans.
Now THAT’s a kudos-worthy way to use Facebook!
Do you have an example of a great use of electrons to further a resale business? Let us know in the comments below.
great idea!

I love it! Periwinkle is borrowing this idea and doing 1 employee a day for the next week or so.

Great, Linda, be sure to drop Vena of Selective Seconds a little thank-you! I see you’re also getting your blog started… this series of “meet our Periwinkers” would be the IDEAL first blog entries…. and then you can simply reference them, or even link the entries automatically, to Facebook! Email me if the idea appeals but you need a little step 1-2-3!

While I’m not a consignment shop, I’m with a co-op of ladies that have a craft shop of individual booths. I find that your recommendations and tips apply to us as well. This being my first attempt at this kind of selling , you are a very helpful venue of education for me. Thank you so much for the work you put in trying to help others.

Hi Tonia, thanks for checking in! I’m always fascinated by co-op shops. Groups of entrepreneurs supporting one another, be it craftspeople, antique merchants, artists… or even farmers’ markets!
